Frequently Asked Questions
What color tablecloth hides red wine best?
Dark, saturated colors like black, navy and deep burgundy hide red wine stains most effectively. Busy patterns or textured weaves also camouflage spill edges, making stains less noticeable until you can treat them.
Can I put a waterproof tablecloth over a fabric cloth?
Yes. A waterproof vinyl or coated topper protects the fabric underneath and gives you quick wipe-clean convenience. If you prefer a fabric look, consider using a protective pad under a decorative cloth instead to preserve the drape.
How should I treat fresh gravy or wine spills on these fabrics?
Blot liquids immediately with a clean cloth—don’t rub. For wine, club soda can help lift fresh pigments; for greasy gravy, blot excess then treat with a mild detergent solution before laundering. Always follow the manufacturer care instructions and pre-test stain treatments on an inconspicuous area.
