Frequently Asked Questions
Will a clear PVC table protector prevent my runner from sliding?
Yes — thicker PVC protectors provide a stable, tacky surface that reduces sliding when layered over a tablecloth or directly on textured tabletops. Expect better grip on textured or fabric surfaces; very smooth tabletops can trap air bubbles so follow the maker’s tip to layer a cloth under the PVC when needed.
Can I machine wash beaded or bamboo runners?
Not recommended. Beaded runners should be spot cleaned to protect stitching and glass beads. Bamboo runners and placemats can be wiped with soap and water and air dried; machine washing can damage the bamboo or cause warping.
How do I stop a runner from sliding on a polished wood table?
Use a non-slip underlayer such as a rubberized shelf liner or small non-marking adhesive dots between the runner and the surface, or place a thin tablecloth under the runner to create friction. For a transparent solution, trim-to-fit clear PVC pads over a cloth layer for both protection and grip.
