Frequently Asked Questions
Are burlap runners washable after Thanksgiving spills?
Burlap runners can usually be spot cleaned and sometimes hand-washed gently, but washing may cause shrinkage, fraying or soften the weave. Follow the seller’s care instructions: many burlap products recommend gentle hand wash, air dry, and avoid machine cycles.
Which material hides crumbs best?
Textured natural fibers like burlap, jute and woven water hyacinth are best at hiding crumbs because their irregular weave and neutral tones camouflage small debris. Patterned linen blends also help but may show wet spills more visibly.
Can I use charger-style woven placemats with any runner?
Yes — woven round chargers or placemats pair well with both textured burlap runners and solid-color linen runners. Choose contrasting textures (soft runner + woven chargers) to create depth while keeping crumbs concealed.
